Troy Life & Fire Safety Ltd. traces its history back to the original Edwards company, Canada's leading manufacturer of fire protection systems since 1929.
2012
Troy Life & Fire Safety purchases National and Marine Fire Services Inc. a full service Fire Protection Company serving principally the Marine Fire and Safety market. With this move, Troy strengthens their knowledge of special hazards while expanding National and Marine’s exposure across Canada in the marine market.
2011
The Troy and Edwards names are well connected to one another, and the move is made to a consolidated brand to serve as our corporate legal name: Troy Life & Fire Safety Ltd.
2007
Members of the Canadian Management Team acquire the Troy Sprinkler business from GE Security Canada, along with 12 Fire Alarm Sales and Service operations in non-metro areas across Canada, becoming a Strategic Partner with GE (now Chubb Edwards).
2005
GE purchases Edwards from SPX Corporation to add to the GE Security Canada business. At that same time, Upper Valley, Barley and Edwards Sprinkler become a single legal entity, Troy Sprinkler Limited, which also became part of GE Security Canada.
2004
Edwards acquires Troy Sprinkler Limited, to enhance market presence of Edwards Sprinkler in Ontario.
2003
Edwards acquires BC based Upper Valley Fire Protection to solidify the market presence of Edwards Sprinkler
2001
Edwards forms the "Edwards Sprinkler" division as part of its mandate to be the "total solution" provider for people and property.
1999
Edwards, then a division of SPX Canada, acquires Barley Fire Protection. Formed in 1974, Barley was one of the largest fire suppression contractors in Atlantic Canada.
